Malaga is in the envious position, to offer also culture to its visitors, here to point out international known monuments and museums. Most important is the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Museum, by far the most famous citizen of this town. To list the more important cultural buildings, apart from the Picasso Museum, also to be mentioned are the Centre of Contemporary Arts and the National Museum of Airports and Air Transport. Furthermore we'd like to point out the Cathedral of Malaga, La Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre, The Castle of Gibralfaro and not to forget, the house where Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born and brought up.
In Malaga are also cultural events taking place, like exhibitions, concerts, dance etc.
Malaga is preparing itself to be voted in the year 2016 the cultural capital of Europe for one year. Even though, the date seems still far ahead, however the town is already working on preparations for this event.
Not to forget the 7th art, it is in Malaga, where every year the national film festival is being held.
The Spanish film festival in Malaga was born in 1998 and since then, it has maintained its objective, to favour and promote Spanish film making. Year after year, the festival unites protagonist from the various sectors of this industry, joining people for round tables, analizing the films on offer, debating and summarizing the progress of the thematic. The festival covers feature films, as well as short films and documentaries.
The festival is a cultural event pleasing the insider as well as the tourist and is covered by a great medial attention and accompanied by a much interest of the public. |
